If you are looking for good hiking trails, there’s Mer Bleu Bog to the south, Dewberry Trail, and NCC Trail 51. To the north, there’s the Princess Louise Waterfall Trail and Cardinal Creek Path.

Kanata

Kanata is a family-friendly town that has lots of parks, trails, restaurants, and businesses around a residential borough. There’s Shirleys Bay Trail on the northeast end by the Ottawa River. To the southeast end, between Kanata and the Barrhaven borough, there’s Jack Pine Trail and Stony Swamp Trail. You can spend your time outdoors walking, running, hiking, biking, or just having a picnic with the kids. 

Vanier North

This small town is located close to Beechwood, within walking distance of shops and large parks. During the winter, they now have a ski/snowshoe trail along the river. You are likely to find a townhouse in around 600k in this town.
